PROTEINS, PROTEINS, PROTEINS!

Protein-focused products are a real trend in the food industry. There are plenty of reasons for this, although the market is naturally always consumer-driven, and the fitness trend is driving demand for protein enormously.

Here are three important benefits of protein:

  • Proteins are the building blocks of the body and help repair damaged tissue, including muscles, skin and organs.
  • Proteins are necessary to form enzymes that catalyze chemical reactions in the body and regulate metabolism, as well as hormones that control bodily functions.
  • Proteins are important for the formation of antibodies that protect the body from pathogens.

NO ADDED SUGAR

Realistically, you can't avoid sugar. Most foods contain sugar, but what you can avoid is the addition of processed sugar. That's what matters to us.

In the food industry, however, every hundredth of a cent matters, as margins are so tight. This is why sugar is naturally very popular as a cheap raw material.

That's still not going anywhere. We won't add unnecessary sugar to any of our products.

SATURATED FAT, NO THANKS!

What was that about fatty acids again? Here's a mnemonic to help: When saturated, we humans are happy; when unsaturated, only fatty acids make us happy!

Saturated fatty acids are unhealthy because they raise cholesterol levels and thus increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. They are therefore also called "bad fats."
